Attach an NVMe/TCP endpoint to an IP interface

Unisphere provides monitoring and management for Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe/TCP) directors, NVMe/TCP ports, NVMe/TCP endpoints, IP interfaces, and IP routes.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system running PowerMaxOS 10 (6079).
  2. Select System > iSCSI+NVMe and click NVME tab to open the NVMe dashboard.
  3. Click NVMe/TCP Endpoints (Attached or Unattached).
  4. Select an NVMe/TCP endpoint and click Attach.
  5. Select whether to use an existing or new IP interface, and do one of the following depending on your selection:
    • Existing:
      • Select an IP interface from the list.
    • New:
      • Select a director and port combination from the drop-down menu.
      • Type a value for the IP Address. You specify the IPv4 address in dotted decimal notation. You specify the IPv6 address in colon-hexadecimal format.
      • Type a value for the Prefix. You specify an IPv4 prefix length value in the range of 1-30. You specify an IPv6 prefix length value in the range of 1-128.
      • View the value for the Network ID. Value that is displayed is based on the existing target selection.
      • Type a value for the VLAN ID. Valid values range from 0 through 4094. This setting fails if same VLAN id is used for more than one IP interface on a specified NVMe/TCP Protocol enabled physical port.
      • Optional: Type a value for the Max Transmission Unit. The default value is 1500. Valid values range from 1200 through 9000.
      • Optional: Select the Use Jumbo Frames checkbox to apply jumbo frames to the IP interface.
      • Optional: Click Delete icon to delete an IP interface.
  6. Click OK.
If you switch between the New and Existing selections, the system applies only the changes from within your last selection.
